Reuters: Can Big Oil Become Big Power?

April 04,2019

Reuters published a story examining the oil major's increasing diversification into electricity, including a review of Shell, BP, Total, and Eni

In its story, Reuters notes Shell's previously reported interest in European sustainable energy provider Eneco, whose operations include retail supply (see prior story here)

Reuters also reports, "Shell looked into acquiring the retail division of rival SSE in recent months but discussions made little progress due to concerns over the government's decision to cap most domestic energy prices."
