NY Utilities Holding Conference On Implementation Of Competitive Procurement Of Storage Resources

The Joint New York Utilities (Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation) will host a conference on March 29, 2019 to discuss their implementation plans for competitive direct procurement of energy storage systems in Case 18-E-0130.
The conference will include presentations from the 19th Floor Board Room of the Public Service Commission’s offices located at Three Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York. Videoconferencing will be available on the 4th Floor Board Room at the Commission’s office in New York City located at 90 Church Street, New York, New York and at the Commission’s office in Buffalo located on the 10th floor at 295 Main Street, Buffalo, New York. Attached to this letter is the agenda and teleconferencing information for the meeting.
The format for the first portion of the stakeholder meeting will be a facilitated panel discussion involving representatives from each of the Joint Utilities, with brief presentations leading into each discussion section. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will then describe key features of the bulk storage incentives under its Energy Storage Market Acceleration Incentives Implementation Plan. There will be opportunities to ask clarifying questions during each segment. A meeting facilitator will ensure that all issues requiring discussion or clarification are covered during the presentation, and that remaining questions can be answered during the latter portion of the meeting.
