Lawmakers Target Default Service Structure In Wake of Rate Hikes

Retail suppliers live in dangerous times.

In the wake of a 30% increase in the National Grid default service electric rate (which itself reflects a deferral of what normally would have been a 60% increase), Rhode Island lawmakers are eyeing legislative changes to the default service rate-setting process, the Cranston, RI, Herald reports

While specifics were not available, the Cranston Herald reports Rep. Grace Diaz, "feels that legislators should have a say in rate increases."
