NV Energy Touts Interest In Revised Optional Pricing Program Rate
March 26,2019
NV Energy said that, as of 3 p.m. March 25, 26 large customers from both northern and southern Nevada have formally submitted their interest in the revised Optional Pricing Program Rate (formerly known as the GreenEnergy Rider - NGR 2.0)
Under the program, the utility is making available more than a million megawatt hours of renewable energy resources for large customers such as casinos and government entities.
"The pricing option will reduce the cost most eligible commercial customers pay for electric service while NV Energy retains the renewable energy credits in order to comply with Nevada’s renewable portfolio standard for the benefit of all customers," NV Energy said
The customers formally filing statements of interest include several government, education and other public entities, as well as gaming companies and heavy industrial users, NV Energy said
The company declined to provide names of interested entities to protect customer privacy. An "open window period" will remain open while the company undergoes a robust documentation process to validate the first-in-time, first-in-right priority order. The company anticipates this process will be complete by the end of the week.
