FirstEnergy Ohio EDCs File New Generation Supply Rates

March 25,2019

The FirstEnergy Ohio utilities have filed new amounts for Rider GEN (Generation Service Rider) for the period beginning June 1, 2019

Rider GEN (which includes an energy and capacity charge) makes up the bulk of the bypassable Standard Service Offer rate, although there are additional bypassable components (such as Rider AER, renewable compliance; Rider NDU, generation uncollectibles, etc.) which, when combined, make up the total SSO rate. Such components generally change quarterly, as opposed to the annual Rider GEN rate change

At Cleveland Electric Illuminating, Toledo Edison, and Ohio Edison, the new Rider GEN rates are generally flat for non-TOU mass market SSO customers (though the individual energy and capacity components show more variation, the total is relatively flat)
