Report: Solar Companies Flock To A Texas Tax Break With Questionable Payback

The Houston Chronicle has published a story examining the use of the Chapter 313 tax relief in Texas, which grants reductions in school property taxes for certain economic development, by solar and wind generation

The Chronicle notes that such generation developers have sought waivers of the number of new jobs that are required to be created to qualify for the tax breaks, with such developers creating only a "modest" number of jobs per project
