Smithfield Foods Selects Provider For 3MW Of Wind

United Wind, a developer of distributed wind energy, announced that it has signed an agreement with Smithfield Foods, Inc. to power dozens of Smithfield hog farms in Colorado with on-site wind energy.

Under the 3MW WindLease agreement, United Wind will install a distributed wind system, priced at a fixed monthly rate for the twenty-year lease term.
