Draft Of Pennsylvania Nuke Subsidy Bill Places Compliance Obligation On EDCs, Not Retail Suppliers
February 27,2019
A Feb. 6 draft of a bill to adopt nuclear energy subsidies in Pennsylvania would place the compliance obligation for procuring and paying for nuclear energy credits (a new Tier III of the AEPS) solely on electric distribution companies, and not on retail suppliers.
Under the draft, retail suppliers would only be required to procure Tier I (plus solar) and Tier II AEPS as required currently. Language for Tier III only requires the EDCs to procure such credits, and omits the term 'electric generation supplier' from such directive
