The Morrison government in Australia has withdrawn from consideration of the current Parliament its proposed "big stick" package of various energy market reforms, as it will instead present the issues to voters in hope of generating a mandate
The bill notably would have broken up integrated generators-retailers, and also would have required retail suppliers to make "reasonable" price changes to reflect "sustained and substantial reductions" in their underlying supply costs
