David Crane: In 10-20 Years, Google, Amazon To be "Dominant" Retail Energy Providers

The Wall Street Journal reports on efforts by Google and Amazon to leverage home energy automation services for more customer data, including energy usage behavior

Solar, storage, and EVs are seen as part of a future smart home ecosystem which Google and Amazon are battling for, the WSJ says.

The WSJ quotes former NRG CEO Crane as stating, "In 10 or 20 years, the dominant retail electric provider in the United States is going to be Amazon or Google."
