Ohio Adopts Rule for Retail Suppliers to Disclose Renewable Compliance Costs to Customers

December 18,2014

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio adopted final rules to require electric utilities and retail suppliers to provide customers with the itemized cost of renewable compliance on bills.

Suppliers using utility consolidated billing will be responsible for providing this information to the utility as it relates to the customer's supply charges.

Although a statewide average compliance cost is to be used for the disclosure, this rate must be applied to the individual customer's unique monthly usage, requiring the supplier to provide unique information to the utility for each customer.

See PUCO's order in Case 14-1411-EL-ORD for details
