Regulator: "Too Many" Retail Suppliers; Must "Better Control" Market Entry

October 29,2018

Reuters reports that, in an interview with Le Monde, Jean-François Carenco, head of France's energy market regulator CRE, said that he was concerned about the large number of retail suppliers in the market.

"This is one of my concerns," Reuters quotes Carenco as stating.

"We must better control the arrival of new suppliers in the market. There are now too many actors, and consolidation will necessarily take place," Reuters quotes Carenco as stating.
